"Taking Care of Your Temple"

        12 Principles to Living a Healthy Life

  "What? Know ye not that your body is a TEMPLE of GOD which dwells within you
 I Corinthians 6:19

 

 

 

 

 

1. Prayer and meditation“Love”

“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”. Proverbs 3:6

 

2. Write and/or review fitness goals daily“Order

“Write the vision, make it plan though it tarry, wait”. Habakkuk 2:2

 

3. Consult with a physician“Understanding”-

“Without counsel purposes are disappointed, but in the multitude of counsel they are established”     Proverbs 15:22

 

4. Create or join a team“Strength”-

“For where two or more are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them”         Matthew 18:20

 

 

5. Drink 1 oz of water for every two pounds of body weight or a minimum of eight - 8 oz. glasses- “Life Conserver”

                Body and Organs composed of more the 60% of water

                Increases Metabolic Function

                Aids in the removal of toxins from body.

 

6. Participate in a heart healthy exercise- “Faith”

                Reduction in blood pressure levels

                Increase in H.D.L-Cholesterol (good cholesterol)

                Decreases your fat stores

                Increases heart and lung function

                Improves circulation

 

7. Improve total body conditioning with strength training-“Power

                Physical capacity

                Physical Appearance

                Increases Metabolic Function

                Decreases Risk of injury/improves ability to recuperate faster

                Increases bone, ligament, tendon tensile strength

 

8. Reduce stress with flexibility training. –“Imagination”

                Improves R.O.M

                Decreases risk of injury

                Reduces stress

                Decreases low-back pain

                Increases Circulation

                Increases the quality and quantity of synovial fluid

 

 

9. Eat smaller sensible meals throughout the day. – “Elimination

“Eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be fulfilled”. Proverbs 25:16

 

10. Decrease the amount of sodium and saturated fats and increase the amount of fresh fruit and vegetables.- “Discrimination”

“That you may be strong, and eat the good things of the land”. Ezra 9:12

 

11. Maintain a steady gradual pace toward success “Zeal”

“Be ye strong, and let not your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded”.   II Chronicles 15:7          

 

12. Continue this process daily“Will

“I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me”.   Philippians 4:13

 

 

Spirtual Principles

1. Love- To be Fond of or to Desire

2.Order - A state of Peace, or Serenity

3.Understanding- The Power or Ability to "think"

4.Strength- The Power to resist strain, stress, and attack

5. Life Conserver-   Does it need one

6. Faith- Unquestioning belief that does not require proof or evidence

7.Power- Great ability to do or to act

8. Imagination- The act or power of forming mental images of what is not actually present

9. Elimination-   To take out, reomve, get rid off

10. Discrimination- To consitute a difference between, to distingquish

11. Zeal - Instense Enthusiasm

12. Will- Strong and Fixed, to wish, prefer, choose, or desire
